Studio One, Urban Dance Center specializes in Hip-Hop and the various genre of dance that make up this style.  Studio One began as UCF Dance, a group which was focused on competitive dance in the street jazz and hip hop styles.  We now focus on performances and competitions catering to larger production numbers where innovation and creativity are encouraged and embraced.

At Studio One, dancers are selected through an audition process and placed on a specific team based on age/grade and ability.   The teams perform individually.  Selected members also perform as part of the company team.   Our dance program is the finest in the southeastern U.S., with numerous State and National titles in our resume (See the Competition Results page).  Our teams perform at local, state and national events.

Julie Johnson

Studio One Owner, Dance Director, Choreographer and Coach
Julie has been dancing her entire life and choreographing since she was 15.  Her passion is teaching dance to kids and young adults who share the passion; helping them reach the highest levels possible, focusing on technique and execution while promoting self esteem.  Her dance teams have achieved numerous, consecutive national championships.  Her choreography has been performed at nearly every national level dance championship.  In 2004, Julie was named to the Dance Coaches Hall of Fame at the U.S. Open Championships.
